Lynda Rigley

Lynda Rigley | Registered Dietitian

Lynda is a Freelance Dietitian, and Director of Sunlight Nutrition Limited. She is a HCPC Registered Dietitian, gained her Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2000. Lynda spent 17 years working in the NHS as a Dietitian, specialising for 15 years in paediatrics. She worked in many clinical areas, and has a particular interest in food allergy and gastrointestinal disorders. Lynda has undertaken further study and qualifications in the management of IBS and cow’s milk allergy.

Prior to her career as a Dietitian Lynda worked in higher education and local government for many years and obtained her PhD from University of Huddersfield, her study looked at the eating habits and growth of children aged 8-11 years.

Lynda is passionate about educating health professionals in nutrition and is looking forward to working with BCT.

A 2-day workshop presented to healthcare professionals, which will focus on the communication skills essential for effective conversations about health. These role-play workshops, supported by video playback, provide the opportunity for individual feedback to enhance development.

Influencing Motivation

This training aims to enhance current practice, by exploring ways of building and strengthening motivation to change and maintaining that motivation throughout the change process. Motivational Interviewing (MI) has been used successfully in a wide range of health behaviours.

Cognitive Behavioural Approaches

This course builds on Behaviour Change Skills Part 1 and 2 and is aimed to enhance your clinical effectiveness by learning to integrate some of the basic CBT techniques into everyday practice. It is a skills-based programme which is supported by a comprehensive 1 day pre-course.
